We Were All Young Once #2

Early 21st century indie rock from Guelph, Ontario.

Royal City disbanded in 2004 (though they released a b-sides compilation this past June) but their sound will echo off the walls for some years to come.
Their album 'Alone At The Microphone' has been receiving increased play on my lil itunes.
Here's two tracks off of it, which come courtesy of my absent blog partner.
Thanx Gingey.

MGTW Presents: Ipswitch

Oh Matt Graves and your Gameboy muzacs.

Under the moniker Ipswitch he crafts digital bleep-scapes reminiscent of the days of yore.
I could prattle on about chiptunes and how Nintendo sounds have been a prevalent sub-genre of music for the last decade, but this is about Matty. These are HIS songs.

'Desert Island' is a gosh dang adventure. All I can think of throughout this track is marshmallow clouds, flying fish and how in the hell I'm going to get home.
Ipswitch - Desert Island

It should be noted that 'Ask' is a cover of The Smiths. To be fair I'm not acquainted with said song but I'm going out on a limb saying it is a re-imagining.
