Countdown to Shambhala - Treasure Fingers

This DJ is? Ashley Jones//Treasure Fingers

Hometown? Atlanta, America

His genre(s)? Funk/House/Disco House

To sum it all up? Treasure Fingers is a Disco champion! Though I'm not the most converted to the new school of disco house, he manages to pull it all together with style and grace. He has remixed blog favorites such as Chromeo, Miami Horror, Little Boots, and Kid Cudi and also has over a decade of experience behind the decks.
He was tentatively booked (but didn't end up playing) a Victoria show w/ A-Trak that I attended. I do not plan to miss him again.
I could get down to some funky grooves.

I got tha movezzzzzz.

Countdown to Shambhala - AC Slater

Who be this? Aaron Clevenger is AC Slater

What will he throw down? Myspace says he plays 'Big Brooklyn Bass.' Having caught a show of his in Victoria, I can verify that it's Big Bass, and he IS from Brooklyn.

And... ? SRSLY!? Just take a look at what remixes this bro has pulled off! His performances are stellar. I'm well hyped for him.

Countdown to Shambhala - Bitchin'

Who dis? Bitchin' w/ Mama Miche & Kenzie Clarke

Where are they from? Miche may call Cow Town home, but Kenzie is from my little corner of the globe, Victoria, British Columbia.

What do they play? Basslicious, Badass Bitchin' Beats or Breakbeat/Electro/House

What's the commotion? Since 2004 Miche and Kenzie have been Bitchin'. Filling dancefloors and starting parades around Western Canada and across the country with their funky electronic genre mash. I've been known to get down (downtown) to their Shambhala and Soundwave sets in past years. They bring it. I'm excited to see them again!

Countdown to Shambhala - Bassnectar

For my second installment of the Shambhala Countdown I've decided to herald a veteran of the festival. If there is one quintessential DJ to see when you go, it's this man.

Who is this? Lorin Ashton is Bassnectar

Where is he from? San Francisco, California

What does he play? He has dubbed it 'mob scene freakshow omnitempo maximalism.'
I've seen him six times before and I can tell you that whatever you want to call it... it's fucking amazing.

Why should you be stoked? Bassnectar has been annihilating dancefloors along the West Coast and beyond for years. He has proven, re-proven, and out done himself time and time again. The Bassnectar experience goes beyond musical. Period.

Countdown to Shambhala - Jack Beats

To start things off correctly I've decided to conduct a countdown to Shambhala Music Festival, which takes place just outside hilariously tiny Salmo, British Columbia.
This is my fourth (and likely last) year attending this festival. I've been introduced to some amazing electronic music in the past three years, but I can say without a doubt that I'm most excited about this year's lineup. So, this is my forum to share my excitement with you.

First up, Jack Beats.

Who is this? Beni G and Plus One of Jack Beats

Where are they from? London

What do they play?
Club/House/Electro

Why should you be excited? Jack Beats have remixed the likes of Diplo & Blaqstarr, AC Slater, Boy 8-Bit, and Does it Offend You, Yeah as well as producing original tracks, these lads come highly regarded and they'd better bring the wobbly noise.
I'm stoked.
