Moving Day

Here's two tracks that have been floating through the air of our nearly packed apartment.
Honestly, I don't really feel like talking about them. So here they are:

MGTW Presents: Ipswitch

Oh Matt Graves and your Gameboy muzacs.

Under the moniker Ipswitch he crafts digital bleep-scapes reminiscent of the days of yore.
I could prattle on about chiptunes and how Nintendo sounds have been a prevalent sub-genre of music for the last decade, but this is about Matty. These are HIS songs.

'Desert Island' is a gosh dang adventure. All I can think of throughout this track is marshmallow clouds, flying fish and how in the hell I'm going to get home.
Ipswitch - Desert Island

It should be noted that 'Ask' is a cover of The Smiths. To be fair I'm not acquainted with said song but I'm going out on a limb saying it is a re-imagining.

Simply Clark

Chris Clark is English.
He makes intense electronic music.
It is very, very good.

This is what he looks like next to bricks.
Otherwise, there is very little information on the interwebs (at least that I could find) about Clark. It seems he's happy just making killer IDM/house music.

You WILL listen to it.

VJ Search

I suppose this is as appropriate a forum as any to shamelessly promote my bid to become a Much Music VJ.
I enter said competition a few days back and it looks good so far. My 'Hot' and 'Cool' ratings are decent and with any luck I could be selected as one of the 16 finalists sometime in October.

I've heard that the new VJ will be a blogger in addition to their other duties. This is perfect for me. So here is your job:

2. Vote me highly, as I am clearly the bomb-diggity.
3. Celebrate good times.
Now for your pleasures------- A DANCE SONG WHOAAAA

O.G.

Somewhere in the deepest depths.
Way down!
Past everything else.
Seemingly hidden...

I desire to be a gangsta.

Once upon a time in the Universe...

The Virgin Space Cadets are near and dear to my heart. Granted, 1/3 of their ensemble is my guitarist/drummer, but beyond BT they're a talented and entrancing bunch.
I spilled the scoop on them a couple weeks back, so I'll leave it to the music to convert you to their ways.

Yes, my fav spacemen have come through in the clutch with a couple tracks.

We Are The City

I believe I attended the most under-rated Victoria show of the year this past night.
Kelowna's We Are The City rocked a small, but interested, almost hypnotized crowd at Logan's. Indeed it seemed the folks in attendance were content to give the trio a quiet admiration instead of the usual hooting and hollering reserved for rock shows. Taking a cue from the Japanese perhaps?
WATC did rock. Franticly, furiously, fantastically.
Imagine Elton John on cocaine and LSD simmered and syphoned into young Okanagan men.

Fist pump if you want to.
Head nod if you want to.
Keep time if you want to.
Just want to go see them.

I like this band and plan on seeing them again in the future. You should too.
Here's two tracks off their album, In A Quiet World, which you should purchase by going to their website, (wearethecity.ca) and not because I say so, but because it's worth buying.

Liplock, the sexiest wrestling move.

As we all know, up until 2001 kissing was considered "super gross." But all that changed with the debut of Montreal based band Bran Van 3000's Astounded music video. You remember, the one with the couple making out hardcore throughout the entire song.
Though, at first, we were repulsed at the sight of such open affection we also couldn't bear to look away. Since then we've been free to make out, gyrate, and write endless love letters to our no longer secret lovers. It's been a great 8 years.
But with 2012 just around the corner (which by the way, I know absolutely nothing about) we only have 3 short years left to love, or something.
So go ahead and love out loud. Love out in the open. But most of all, always make out for nearly 4 minutes in different locations around your city/town.

DANCEABLES

Hey, I like danceables. You like danceables.

Together we like danceables and talk to our friends about how there isn't anything better than listening to a few danceables while we enjoy a strong gin and tonic before we head off to a potluck at our buddy's place where we listen to a few more danceables but this time we listen to them a bit louder because our buddy doesn't live in an apartment our buddy lives in a house with a bunch of other buddies and they like to listen to danceables at an increased volume because it makes them feel more like dancing and what's a danceable without dancing am I right and so now we're dancing and some might even say grooving and I say to my buddy how great is this and he agrees that yeah it's pretty great and I bask in the thought of how great it really is because I'm listening to danceables with my buddies.

Here's two danceables.

I was recently profiled by The Lab Blog, which is run by the awesome peeps at Lab Salon.
That's where I get my hair dids.
Hop on over and ch-ch-check 'em out! This can be easily accomplished here

As for some music, I thought it appropriate to keep things narcissistic so here's the first ever mix I made back in June. I wish I could post the mix I was working on throughout August, but my computer was stolen (Fuck) and most of my projects have been halted for the time being.
