Just 11 short days after I move from my little island capital to the biggest city in Western Canada, Chris Mercer, an English dubstep DJ who plays under the moniker Rusko will be hitting Shine in Vancouver on October 11th. I fully realize that this show isn't for a nearly two months. That's how excited I am!Rusko is among an unfinished list of top jockeys that I've been pining to see. Below I'll breakdown a few tracks of his that will completely burn your barn.
This first track is a new one to my ears. It seems to follow a galactic rasta vibe. I especially enjoy the laser fx and accompanying dub-head sound bytes as it chugs along at a pleasing pace.
Rusko - Mr. Chips
The remix for 'Pro Nails' by Kid Sister totally flips the song on it's ear and was my royal introduction to his insane production work. Though it has aged some in this ever-changing fast paced go-go world, it's still undoubtedly fine.

Re-imagining an old NES theme in the form of a jaw dropping dub step track is the easiest way for one to become my new messiah. This remix has it all, including some sense-able sized drops, and a double up on the beat halfway through the song that allows growth.
